We have had bear sightings over the past few weeks. The latest was a yearling who decided he wanted to snatch a grill brush and enjoy the remains of BBQ sauce. Thanks to the guest's, Jennifer & Eric for catching the guy with the goods!
Over the past four seasons we have worked to plant many perinnial flowers to give more color with day lilies, tiger lilies, cone flowers and we have many wild daisies. We also have native and hybrid rhododenrums, azaleas and mountain laurel bushes.
Alpine Village opened on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Winter is finally departing. We are having rain, but Spring is just around the corner. We are looking forward to a wonderful Season here on the mountain!
It is hard to believe that Labor Day Weekend is here already. This is the last weekend the swimming pool is open for the season. We have received numerous compliments on the new pool and location with the mountain views. The new pool furniture added a pop of color that everyone enjoyed. We will leave the furniture out for a while so guests can continue to enjoy the area and the fire pit.
Summer is in full swing here on the mountain. There has been a lot of rain the past two weeks, but it is clear and sunny now! Guests are enjoying the new pool, shuffle board court and fire pit with magnificient views! Get out of the heat and come join the fun at Alpine Village where everyday is springtime. This is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate!
April 5 is just around the corner. This year you will experience a beautiful new swimming pool with water jets, an awesome view, new deck furniture, a cozy fire pit, a shuffle board court and a new parking lot in front of the Clubhouse along with the new “Front Porch” !
It has been a long and rough winter, but Spring is near and preparations are being made to open Alpine Village to all our Owners and Guests.
Daffodils are up and ready to bloom, next the dogwoods, redbuds and then the mountain laurel will be breathtaking.
Alpine Village is closed for the season and will re-open on April 5, 2014.
The leaves are starting to change and fall is in the air. Mornings are crisp, evenings are cool and the days are full of sun and new leaves changing each day.
The State of NC has done some blacktopping from the Mt. Mitchell Golf Course area north on Highway 80 to Colberts Bridge – this is a very nice improvement.
We are feeling Fall in the air now. It is in the 70's during the day and low 50's at night.
Butterflies galore have been in the Village for some time along with the hummingbirds. It has been fun watching them.
