The Toe River Arts Council

The Toe River Arts Council (TRAC) was established in 1976 to promote the arts in the Mitchell and Yancey Counties. The Parkway Playhouse

The Parkway Playhouse began back in 1947 as a summer show theatre that entertained tourists each night during their visit. It is still operating today, and is now the oldest continually operating summer theater in North Carolina. It is an independent theatre company that operates as a small professional theatre which offers a wonderful schedule of shows each each summer.
